OUTBACK RIDERS ATV CLUB
Established in 2000 The First ATV Club in Clinton County, New York
|
Since September 2000, the members of the Outback Riders ATV Club have been working to promote the sport of ATV riding throughout Clinton County and Franklin County. We do a large portion of our riding in Franklin County, New York because they have trails and roads open for ATV use.
We are a family oriented organization. Membership is open to all. We currently have members from all over the North Country and some from Canada as well.
The Outback Riders ATV Club are strong advocates of "CARRY OUT WHAT YOU CARRY IN". We emphasize that members must respect the environment and surroundings that we utilize. We do so by conducting trail maintenance in conjunction with local snow mobile clubs on trails that we both utilize in our respective seasons.

The Outback Riders ATV Club is currently reorganizing our club with a slight name change, formation of a LLC, election of officers and board of directors. All this change is an effort to help our organization secure legal places to ride in Clinton County. All this work will be done to work with NYSORVA to bring ATV presence to the forefront in Clinton County and hopefully link trails from Clinton County through Franklin County, St.Lawrence County, Jefferson County and Lewis County.
The OUTBACK RIDERS ATV Club has over 150 active members working to promote the fine sport of ATV riding while enjoying the sport themselves.
We meet the second Monday of the month at 7:00 PM at the Gander Mountain Meeting Room in Champlain Centre Mall in Plattsburgh, New York March through November. New members are always welcome to attend one of our monthly meetings to learn of our activities.
2009 Meeting Dates March 9th April 13th May 11th June 8th July 13th August 10th September 14th October 12th November 9th

Membership to the OUTBACK RIDERS ATV Club requires that all ATV riders wear helmets, have their machines insured and registered in accordance to New York State Law.
We emphasize safe riding while continuing to have fun. Rides are organized to keep track of all riders in the group with a leader, one or two people in the middle of the group and one bringing up the end to ensure all riders are accounted for during a trip. Contact is maintained among those responsible for the ride via two way radios.

Promoting ATV use in the Community
|
The OUTBACK RIDERS ATV Club continuously strive to promote the sport of responsible ATVing by participating in various community events.
The Summer of 2008, the OUTBACK RIDERS helped patrol the cycling and running portions of the Lake Placid Ironman competition.
We also plan ATV rides to travel to other locations in order to support fund raisers of other ATV organizations.
Rides already scheduled for the 2009 riding season include at least two trips to the Tug Hill Plateau, 2009 Lake Placid Ironman competition and the 2009 Chrubusco Fire Dept. ATV and Street Legal Truck Pulls. No matter where we ride we always have fun doing so!
